Stem Cells and Genetics

Health risks are on the rise all around the world. Therefore, implementing effective preventive measures is becoming increasingly important. 

Novel technologies favour an easy collection of stem cells, mitochondria, sperm and oocytes. Timely conserved cells are a powerful preventive tool to cope with future health issues (immunity disorders, degenerative changes, infertility, organ dysfunction, incurable infections, ageing, …). 

Early health measures based on genetic testing can prevent or at least delay the outbreak of various diseases.

Featured Projects

Stem Cells

Stem cells are vitally important components of our blood. They enable our body to produce white and red blood cells, or provide lifelong help in reparing damaged tissues. Our Stem Cells Project targets the collection and preservation of haematopoietic stem cells from cord and adult blood. The conserved cells are available anytime, ready to improve haematogenesis, strengthen the immune system or treat serious diseases.

Mitochondrion

Mitochondria, the 'cellular powerhouses', are organelles indispensable for our cells to function. Unfortunately, their quality and efficiency tend to decline over time, which leads to ageing and the onset of age-related diseases. The key to decelerating this process lies in supporting the mitochondrial regeneration. The objective of our Mitochondrion Project is to utilise stem cells for the purpose of one-off or continuous transplantation of our own mitochondria.

Microbiome

Technological advances in molecular biology, particularly next-generation sequencing, have provided valuable insights into the previously unexplored world of the human microbiome. The gut microbiota composition imbalances have been proven to underlie multiple health problems. Our Healthy Stool Project focuses on microbiome analyses and treating dysbiosis through diet, prebiotics, probiotics and various medications. The project also covers the preventive biobanking of one's own healthy microbiome.

Sport

The Sport Project focuses on genetic constitution and optimal nutrition. We help young people select a suitable sport and we also provide nutritional advice to build their physical constitution. We create effective training plans both for individuals and teams. When choosing the right sport, it is necessary to consider factors such as height, muscular, ligamentar, bone and joint constitution, cardiovascular system condition, metabolic and energetic potential, ability to recover from physical exercise and injury, immune system condition, stress hormone levels and mental resilience. Genetic testing of both individuals and sports teams helps identify positive and negative predispositions and optimise training plans and effectiveness. Additionally, we develop personalised nutrition plans based on the results of genetic analyses.

Avecell

The Avecell Project is focused on the application of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) in veterinary medicine. MSC for therapeutic purposes can be collected from an animal’s bone marrow or isolated from fat tissue, umbilical cord or placenta. Prior to application, the cells are propagated in the laboratory. Our cell preparation Avecell® can be applied to the site of injury, e.g. the musculoskeletal system, to facilitate the natural healing process. MSC also display unique immunomodulatory activity that can be used to treat allergies, autoimmune diseases or during transplantations.
